Pall Mall cigarettes were introduced by Butler & Butler Company in 1899. Originally it positioned itself as premium class cigarettes. Since 2004 the brand belongs to R. J. Reynolds. Pall Mall cigarettes were in pique of its popularity in 1960, when this brand became brand #1 in USA. Pall Mall released new standard in cigarette market, 100 mm long cigarettes. Pall Mall cigarettes were very popular until 1966 when Winston released their long cigarettes.

Generally speaking, there are different designs for Pall Mall packs. It can be always identified on which market one or another pack of Pall Mall was bought. Nevertheless, the logo and the main features of it remain unchanging. Recently Pall Mall Lights filter ring has changed from a gold color to a navy blue matching both the box and the Pall Mall lettering on the filter. The unfiltered blend is still sold in softpacks with the traditional style packaging and design.
