Chesterfield cigarettes brand belongs to Philip Morris Company. The brand was named after Chesterfield county in Virginia. Chesterfield was carried out by Drummed Tobacco since 1873. After 1898 the company was merged by American Tobacco, and in 1911 after collapse of the company, the brand Chesterfield was given to Liggett & Myers. During this time the Chesterfield cigarettes brand experienced major changes in its blend formulation, in design of its packaging and advertisement promotion. Because of these changes the cigarette sales increased intensively and the brand was one of the most popular cigarette brands in USA. But the high point of the Chesterfield cigarettes flourish time is considered to be in mid 20s, when many celebrities participated in its advertising. The brand appeared as a sponsor in several TV shows and baseball competitions.
